|This position is located within The Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre within the School of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in ecological research with an emphasis on quantitative modelling in the fields of aquatic ecology, landscape ecology or ecohydrology. They will work closely with the Director and other senior staff in contributing to new and existing projects. Relevant examples include modelling the impacts of climate-variability/change and water extraction on species distribution patterns in northeast Victoria, and understanding the effects of floodplain inundation patterns on river/wetland biota. Specific activities will be tailored to the skills of the successful applicant. |
Skills & Experience
Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications or research experience. (ecology or ecohydrology).
A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of strong research potential.
Experience in quantitative (statistical/process) modelling, especially integrating empirical field data with other datasets (e.g. hydrologic time-series, spatial data).
Competent in the use of R statistical software and GIS (e.g. R, ESRI, QGIS).
